Birders

Friday evening was the first night of the fall where I had lots of
Swainson's Thrushes moving. Between 930 PM and 1000 I was averaging about 40
calls per minute. The weather was clear and warm, with light NE winds. These
conditions are typically good for fall migrants in coastal CA. The following
morning (Saturday) I got up to hear the pre-dawn flight. It had fogged over
by then, but there were at least 75 calls/minute between 500 AM and 6 AM. I
tried to capture it on my iPhone but failed. Time to invest in a recording
set-up I guess!
