The current master on Github doesn't include a configure file or the
Makefile.in files. I'm having a bit of trouble running the autoconf
tools to produce this. Is there a version available (similar to version
1.6.16) which includes these files - thus I should only have to run
./configure to get started?
Currently, on my FreeBSD 11.1-STABLE system (with autoconf, automake
and libtool installed), running autoconf gives me these errors:
% autoconf
configure.ac:10: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.

configure.ac:18: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_PROG_CC_C_O
configure.ac:136: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_CONDITIONAL
configure.ac:440: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_COND_IF
It's entirely possible that this is due to my lack of experience with
the autoconf tools.
