Dear Ones,
An Incident had happened....(hmm rather an accident) around an year back,
thought of sharing with you all. Spend some time to read.
Around 3.00pm in the evening....
Time:
3:02:00 pm: Me and my colleague were working on the data in "Dirve E (35
GB)" and the folder was open, which has all my backup of Reports, Softwares,
Tools,Ebooks etc.,
3:04:00 pm: Went to next cabin to take a printout which took less than *30
seconds* to me to come back to my seat.
3:04:40 pm: Shock !!!!!
The "E drive" was still open.......Nothing Strange
........
But there is nothing left except around 200 MB of
data among 35 GB. Not Something Strange..It's unbelievable........
No Reports...............
No Bakcup softwares.............
No Tools.....
No Ebooks.........
My mind was completely blank like my system's "E Drive" for couple of
minutes...........
What Happened???? No Clue ----- Still searching...for the root cause.
Impossibilities:
Here there is a chance of suspecting my colleague since he was in front of
system for those 30 seconds in my absence.
BUT---->
1. It cannot be SHIFT+Delete since it'll take at least 30 minutes
to delete 35 GB of data
2. Even it cannot be FORMAT command bcoz. it'll take atleast
10-15 minutes.. to format a 35 GB drive. Even if it is so...the drive should
have been empty without that 200MB of data.
I could recollect a 5 GB of critical data by using a software called *
"GetDataBack.for.NTFS.FAT"*
But every time we might not get a chance of recovering the things which were
lost ........................
It happened to me in the PAST It can happen to you in the FUTURE.
So Folks.....Please pay some attentions towards this and lets discuss about
the so called root cause and backup your Data......every time....
Regards,
Ravi Gopal
