Why hello, world. snv_113, x86_64, running the 64b kernel. 4GB RAM. Eventually, machine floods console with output of the form:
/usr/lib/nfs/nfsd[PID]: t_open /dev/tcp failed: t_errno 8, Resource temporarily unavailable, stops responding /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd[PID]: Cannot establish transport over /dev/tcp Local and remote login are unresponsive - console hangs at username forever and never prompts for password, remote prompts for password and then hangs forever on receiving it. The only result I can find for this in searching is on this list, circa 2006: http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=42261 The only theory opened is that there's some kernel-related resource running out, possibly related to running a 32b kernel and the limitations therein. As mentioned above, 4GB of RAM and running the 64b kernel, so I'm fascinated. In particular, no tweaks of any kind WRT nfsd have been applied - stock snv_113 default settings, no editing of any config files or kernel options. Thoughts? The machine is not outputting anything more interesting than the above, and being unable to login, I cannot reasonably find a way to diagnose further. - Rich -- Evolution is a million line computer program falling into place by accident.
