Frank is absolutely right: for v4 they have both the stable storage issue, and the way that v4 constructs its filehandles from ZFS.
For v3, the stable storage issue is only of concern with using locking (NLM/STATMON lockd/statd), and providing the device node numbers are the same there should not be a filehandle issues, at least. cheers, c.
