I'm having this same problem on SLES9.  I noticed that if twiddled the ACLs 
around a little,
I could get "getfacl" to leave out the 'mask' setting.  In those circumstances, 
the '+' went
away on the linux client.  But the 'cp -p' command still gave the warning 
problem when copying 
files.  I guess I need to shut off ACL's at the NFS server if I want my linux 
boxen to work right.
