Hello everybody,
After a longer period of silence a new NfSen snapshot is available
at Sourceforge.
This snapshot includes the new channel architecture, which resulted
in major changes. Along with a lot of other interface improvements,
such as interactive cursors, ( thanks to Philippe Bourcier for the
inspiration and code snippets ) and much more flexibility in displaying
channels, this makes a big step towards NfSen v1.3. However, there
still are a few things missing, and will be implemented next, such as
the alerting module and the shadow profiles.
Please note, this is a snapshot - use it at your own risk. It's mostly
intended for geeks, who want to play with. The next provided snapshot will
be a first beta of 1.3. Anyway, for those who want to play with, feedback
is appreciated.
The standard installation process will upgrade old installations automatically.
Please note, that also nfdump needs to be upgraded to snapshot-20071010,
otherwise profiling does not work. If you have custom plugins, habe a look into
README.plugins for changes, to make your current plugings work.
.. ah .. almost forgotten, - yes - there is a updated PortTracker in
the contrib directory. You have to replace PortTracker with the new
version.
