I can understand the benefits of using Google Wave, and I see it as a promising technologies, but isn't it a bit too early to move to it? Not only is it invitation-based only, but it also breaks a lot of habits. And, like Michael Teper said, there are many readers who will be affected.
If there is some kind of replication between the wave and this group (for both reading & writing), then, I'm in. Otherwise, I vote to wait a little longer, at least until it goes out of invitation-only mode. BTW, I haven't been invited yet, although I did apply for it a while ago.
