Hi all,

It appears to me the development pace of NHibernate is almost staled, due
to a lack of availability of contributor for validating and finishing PRs.

Since almost two months, we should finish the 5.2 release. But it still
contains fourteen PRs awaiting validation or requiring some additional
work. (See here <https://github.com/nhibernate/nhibernate-core/pull/1863>.)

Most PRs are awaiting validation, from someone else than me, mainly because
I am their main author.

In such case, I think the rule for merging should be relaxed, to allow
going forward when there is a lack of contributors availability for
validating PRs.

I propose to allow an author with merging rights to merge its own PRs one
week after them being ready, unless a contributor has expressed grounded
concerns about the proposed changes.

In the spirit of this proposition, and since the development group is not
very active either, I plan to start applying this rule on October the 29th,
unless it is disagreed upon by other main contributors.

Best regards,

Frédéric
