TBH, NH is not suited for bulk operations (unless you use a special NH
factory). When you get into 100K rows etc. there is high chance of
your app grinding to a halt.

We had a simple insert routine that took 30mins or more for 100K
records (using the default session). In the end we wrote that specific
function in raw ADO.NET and did it in about 100 secs. By using OLEDB
instead of SQL Server ADO and using basic SQL statements we kept our
database flexibility.

Sometimes you need a scalpel, not a sledgehammer :)
