I hate to bring this up now, but I have been researching tank sealing
for the past few weeks and have heard almost nothing but bad things
about kreem. First of all it's incredibly toxic and part of the
process actually etches the metal on the inside of your tank, and
secondly it will most definitely peel off over time and gunk up your
carbs. My bikes previous owner used kreem to seal the tank a few years
ago and it's a mess. Little bits are peeling off all over the inside
of the tank, and there are little specks of gum in my fuel filter
after a few days of riding. According to my mechanic kreem was the
primary reason I needed a carb rebuild.

Over at the ADV rider forum there were many, many posts about tank
cleaning/rust removal/sealing and the general consensus seemed to be
that kreem is pure evil and Por15 is much more reliable product.

Here's a link to ADV riders por15 vs kreem threads:

Here's the "heavy duty" Por15 cleaner sealer that is specifically
designed to remove old, nasty, gummy kreem:

If you are in California, check out rusteco: they use an enzyme
cleaner that is actually biodegradable, doesn't use acids to etch the
tank, and according to motorcycle cruiser magazine, an almost
permanent fix for a rusty tank.
