Minnesota Blue,
Am your neighbor in Wisconsin and am wondering if you have started on
your painting project? I just finished painting my 84 650 Nighthawk
using a spraycan of Plastikote enamel. I did not know about this site
at the time I painted the bike in October, however a good reference to
get me started was "DiY Motorcycle Painting" how to paint like a pro
for ten dollars. I chose black and the finish turned out a lot better
than I expected. The color has a nice gloss to it and reflects
objects like a mirror. I am a woodworker so this was my first attempt
at painting metal. The advice about patience from Dennis is
critical. Good luck with your project and yes you can do it! Shadow
