There is no way you could damage your charging system by push starting your bike, except very new bikes or cars with an ECU (ignition / injection computer), which is not the case of NHs. I push start my NH at each start, downhill the morning when I leave home, in order to get the maximum running distance from the charge that I give to the battery during night.
