I don't remember them having a front disc brake (?) I could do without the high-rise handlebars too. still in all, a nice bike. 883 ? A four speed ? I don't know if I'd ever have another one (I had a 59 sportster many years ago) I like riding them from time to time but I always stop before the tattoos start appearing and I crave a Lucky and a beer. They were way ahead of their time. Mine had a primitive GPS. An automatic country hotel finder. My mother was the reason for me giving the sporty up. It leaked oil on the patio.... I got into a "race" against a Triumph Bonneville one day and when it came time to stop (like WHOA !) It came up a little short (front drum brake model) and I bumped the back of a stopped Valiant station wagon. The bike climbed the bumper and dented the rear door. (a good solid bump) The driver leaned out the window and cursed me out and drove off. I turned right at the next light.... I guess he noticed the dent later. I sold it and bought a BMW R60. Got some good stories about that too. Enjoy your HD, one thing is sure, parts availability and resale value. Can't go wrong.
