I had seen Honda Nighthawk commercials when I was younger and liked
the way they looked. My dad started riding around that time
(Harley's, not Hondas) and I think the image stuck. When I wanted to
upgrade last summer from the 71 350 I started to think of nighthawks.
Turns out the older ones were pretty cheap, reliable, and had a more
"neutral" riding position than other bikes and as a new rider, I
didn't want to be too far forward or backwards on a bike. Found an
'83 650 and really enjoy it. I also like to give my dad crap about
the fact that if I had an 83 Harley I would be fixing it, not riding
it!
