and yet another one:
duh duh duh!

freedom of speech does not include the right to yell fire in a theater.  but I
wouldn't expect you to know that.  you just like the emotional "I can say
anything I want" syndrome of the dumbed down.

You didn't check far enough(that's understandable it's part of the syndrome),
claiming States Rights as an excuse to fly the Confederate flag is yelling fire
in a theater.  Clearly demonstrated by this thread.

Last time I checked, this was still the U.S. of A.
and we are all free to do what we wish. (Freedom of speech, freedom of
religion,
freedom of choice). If the confederacy had won then you would be singing a
different story (and whistling Dixie). If he wants a confederate flag that's
his
business. If I want to call my bike "Ratt Fink" I'll do that to. (My Harley,
not
my Hawk). Send me a picture when you're done Kyle....there won't be another
Hawk
like it I'm sure.

If I were to apply the confederate flag decals
to my bike, I think I'd paint it orange first and put a 01 on the
          sides. ;)

wire does reach i just wanted to make sure being a little bit too
long would not affect how it runs.I can definitely use the hwy
pegs also, they make long trips so much more comfortable. The rust on
the sissy bar is not a big problem ,i can either find a place to re
chrome them or simply paint the bars on them black since my
bike seems to be mostly black and white. My wife and i found
some decals that we are going to put on the tanks and side

I just have to figure out which sizes to get... they will look
good on the bike because it is painted white ... i am still trying
to decide what to put on the front fender ... i was thinking about
something along the lines of this --->

<--- maybe 4" on that decal to go in the fender

My wife and i saw leather jackets and helmets to match these
decals the other day ... they would go great with my rebel flag
            tats.

Oh, so you're just a few or couple of hours from
            here -
no spark plug wires.  If it reaches your #4 will do, just
tag it as #3 for future reference. Sorry no turn signals, mine were
all broken. I'll check again for fuse box cover but I don't
remember
seeing one.  I have some highway pegs I'll throw in.  Keep
them or pass them on.  I'll mail it all off tomorrow and let
you know what it costs.  You'll have to be the judge of the
sissy bar - you saw the pic.  There's rust.  Only good
thing is that it's been adapted to fit the 650NH,  Graham

Scott,  Graham here, what's the air
cleaner duct you need?  I have the four rubber boots that
go between the carbs and the air box.  I have the air box
                too.

i know the feeling, my 1st bike was
                  a '83 Nighthawk 650, sold that becuase i had a plug break
off down in the cylinder and my friend who was going to get
it
out for me was never around.I ended up buying a Yamaha Virago
920 which turned out to be nothing but problems.I was looking
to buy a Harley Sportster but ended up coming across an'85
nighthawk 650 and couldn't turn it down for $660 so now i am
trying to get it up and running correctly and can't wait to
take my first ride on it once the weather (rain) lets up and
i
get all my new parts on it,find needed parts change the
oil and get the carbs set correctly.

                  New parts to be installed

gearshift pedal
rubber (already installed ... wife beat

don't
mind, she can install every part if she wants to i am easy to
                  get along with ~ lol)
                  tank hold down parts(were
                  missing)
                  side
covers (need to be primered &
                  painted)
                  spark plug wire(replaces one
that the previous owner taped back together)
                  choke
cable (old one was frayed and
                  binding up)
                  fork reflector(was
                  missing)
                  turn
                  signals (either install after market
ones that came with the bike or buy new ones that belong on
                  the bike.
                  battery (now
that we finally got the correct one with the terminals in the
correct places, the dealer sold us the wrong one then gave us
                  a fit taking it back)

                  Needed parts include:

parts i would like to get but
                  don't necessarily need:

                  sissy bar
                  windshield
                  headlight

rectangle light that is suppose to be on bike but can live
with round one that is on the bike currently)
                  engine guard and highway

could
leave "emblemless"... but would it still be a Nighthawk
                  ?)
                  emblem (for

service we will have to do to the

                  oil change (
god knows how old the oils is in the bike, the previous owner
claimed to have put "Restore" into the gas tank ... i thought
"Restore was to go into the oil not the fuel ... so we
emptied
out the tank and filled it with fresh fuel

carburetors (try to find out how to and

*** If anyone knows where i can

My first Bike was a 82 650 Nighthawk.
I paid $450.00 for it and have
owned them all from the so
                  called Crotch Rockets ( Uncomfortable
Riding Position),
Enduros ( To Top Heavy) and a Harley is( To Noisy)
and not
for me. My Nighthawk was the Perfect Bike in Ride, Looks
                  and
Reliabilty and It had all the Get up and Go I needed.
                  It's been said
Over and Over again that once you own one
                  you always want another and
It's True. Since Selling it I
always missed it and wanted another, and
when I saw the Ad
for a 83 550 For Sale I had to check it out. I
didn't know
much about it until I found Paul's Nighthawk Web
                  Site.
After Reading all the Information about it and what I
                  already knew
about the Honda Nighthawk I Purchased it.
                  Although it's not the 650
Nighthawk I was looking for It Is
Still A Nighthawk and I am Happy
with it.  Thank's

Gorgeous bike, but when it came time for me to buy, I chose a
                  Ducati 160 Monza Junior instead.

                  Duc cost $479, the Honda $525, and a 160 was a 160, right??
Big mistake!? In a year, the Ducati was rolling
junk...bearings shot, chrome rusted, paint weathered out.?
The
Honda still looked and rode like new. Every bike since has
been a Honda: CL175, CL350, two CM450C's and now the
Nighthawk. You can't go wrong by "following The
                  Leader."

P.S. By the way, how do you find out where those Florida swap
meets are held?- Hide quoted text -
