While I admit that most young southerners don't realize what the confederate flag really stands for, some persons are just as ignorant in their attitude that all persons who display it are racist bigots AND/OR "REDNECKS. " I ran track in high school in Ohio There were NO blacks in their schools, unless the whole school was black and I know: we ran against all black high schools. Now, the school I went to had blacks, but that was because of the federal funds it received due to the GI brats going there. Thet managed to add a whole new facility larger than the original school with those funds. Plus a stadium and cafeteria. The riots in Boston were worse than any protests I knew of down South. The Civil War wasn't about slavery. It was more about economics and tariffs. The North wanted to force their high prices on the South. The South bought machinery and tools for less, shipped all the way from England, than from the north. Now, they want very low tariffs, because the companies have gone north, south, or over to China Taiwan and Japan and India. for cheap and/or slave labor. THAT is what NAFTA was all about. Poppa Bush and the New World Order. Now I am goin' t' get some administrative stuff done and work on my caliper so I can ride my new NighthAWK... when this infernal rain stops. Stanley

You didn't check far enough(that's understandable it's part of the syndrome), claiming States Rights as an excuse to fly the Confederate flag is yelling fire in a theater. If he wants a confederate flag that's his business. If I want to call my bike "Ratt Fink" I'll do that to. (My Harley, not my Hawk). Oh, so you're just a few or couple of hours from here - no spark plug wires. If it reaches your #4 will do, just tag it as #3 for future reference. Sorry no turn signals, mine were all broken. I'll check again for fuse box cover but I don't remember seeing one. I have some highway pegs I'll throw in. Keep them or pass them on. I'll mail it all off tomorrow and let you know what it costs. You'll have to be the judge of the sissy bar - you saw the pic. There's rust. Only good thing is that it's been adapted to fit the 650NH, Graham On Mar 31, 2009, at 8:29 PM, jeff scott wrote: I think that about covers it unless you have 4 turn signals you don't need and a fuse box cover which i think you didn't have if my memory is working today, i can't seem to remember things at times. If you have one i need a #3 cylinder spark plug wire, i got a wire but its from #4 cylinder and i don't know if that will work of not.Aside from that stuff all other stuff is luxury items that i don't really need in order to ride but would like to getin the future such as highway pegs and crash bars. New parts to be installed include: gearshift pedal rubber (already installed ... wife beat me to it... she just had to install the first part ... i don't mind, she can install every part if she wants to i am easy to get along with ~ lol) tank hold down parts(were missing) side covers (need to be primered & painted) spark plug wire(replaces one that the previous owner taped back together) choke cable (old one was frayed and binding up) fork reflector(was missing) turn signals (either install after market ones that came with the bike or buy new ones that belong on the bike. battery (now that we finally got the correct one with the terminals in the correct places, the dealer sold us the wrong one then gave us a fit taking it back) Needed parts include: fuse box cover (missing) seat ( need replaced or recovered) instrument assembly (no cover, needles broke off speedo & tacho) brake light (not working at all) air cleaner duct parts i would like to get but don't necessarily need: sissy bar windshield headlight assembly ( would like to have the rectangle light that is suppose to be on bike but can live with round one that is on the bike currently) engine guard and highway pegs emblems (for new side covers after we paint them to match bike ... or could leave "emblemless"... but would it still be a Nighthawk ?) emblem (for right side of fuel tank... already have the one on the left side, right side is not being found easily) service we will have to do to the bike before riding: oil change ( god knows how old the oils is in the bike, the previous owner claimed to have put "Restore" into the gas tank ... i thought "Restore was to go into the oil not the fuel ... so we emptied out the tank and filled it with fresh fuel set carburetors (try to find out how to and attempt to set the carbs after installing choke cable *** If anyone knows where i can get any of the above parts that we still need reasonably priced or has any advice about parts we need or advice on service that we should do to the bike before getting it on the road please feel free to let us know .We always welcome advice due to the fact that we definitely do NOT know everything and are always willing to learn and appreciate any and all advice given. My first Bike was a 82 650 Nighthawk. I paid $450.00 for it and have owned them all from the so called Crotch Rockets ( Uncomfortable Riding Position), Enduros ( To Top Heavy) and a Harley is( To Noisy) and not for me. My Nighthawk was the Perfect Bike in Ride, Looks and Reliabilty and It had all the Get up and Go I needed. It's been said Over and Over again that once you own one you always want another and It's True. Since Selling it I always missed it and wanted another, and when I saw the Ad for a 83 550 For Sale I had to check it out. I didn't know much about it until I found Paul's Nighthawk Web Site. After Reading all the Information about it and what I already knew about the Honda Nighthawk I Purchased it. Although it's not the 650 Nighthawk I was looking for It Is Still A Nighthawk and I am Happy with it. Thank's Paul and Everyone Else, Great Site !!!!!!!!
