Maybe it's because the Japanese are short people?  Don't really know the whole 
answer, just a reasonable observation.
Honda reps seem to have a reputation of being somewhat arrogant, kinda like the 
reps for Porsche.  Quite a contrast from the Robin Subaru reps.

Sargent has a service where they move the riser of the seat back to
correct the problem. Of course the pan on the NH is bent upward at the
riser position so they can't do it. Whoever designed this seat must
have had a miniature bum.
