OK, I need help. I am trying to get my 83 Nighthawk 650 back
together. I took the tank and all the plastic off for paint, then
also took a few other parts off just to clean 26 years worth of dirt
off it. Whoever owned this thing before me just drove it and didn't
bother to do much cleaning. My problem is the ignition coils. I took
it off and took it apart (not competely) to get all of the dirt out of
the small spaces in there. Cleaned up nice. However, I did not pay
much attention to which plug went to which coil. Now, the plug wires
are labeled nicely. With each plug saying which coil it goes to and
which cylinder it goes to. I know that the cylinders are number 1-4
from left to right (left being the left side of the bike if you are
sitting on the seat facing forward). However, I cannot for the life
of me find a diagram telling me which coil plug is which. Basically
it is two coils side by side. Each coil has a two plugs on the back
(facing towards the back of the bike when mounted on the bike), one
plug on top, one plug on bottom. 4 plugs total. Anyone able to tell
me which number each one is? Thanks so much!
