Well I'm a bit bummed because I ordered up a used CDI for $50 this morning
from Portland and I think it's on its way.  

I'll mess with my connections a bit tomorrow and see if it solves my
problems as well.   If so, I guess I'll be selling my 'extra' CDI.

Please see my post under "83 NightHawk 650 no spark on center two cylinders
" -in summarry the root cause appears to be corrosion of the connecters.
Read the post - perhaps this is a solution that my resolve your issue as
well - considering we have identical symtoms as far as i can tell.
