Well...lets' just say that there's a lot of difference between killing a 
Hawk and wearing one out. If you blow the motor, you've just killed your 
Hawk. With the throttle cable...been there, done that. I had to get a good 
used one too. As far as how far a Hawk will go before you wear one out, I 
have two '83 650's and I'll let you know when I wear one out so bad that 
it's a parts bike...LOL! (One has 24,000 and the other 34,000). HotrodMamma.
