I apologize...it was 2 intake valves that are warped (the big ones..) and not
in the same cylinder. One was only going part way up creating a tap-tap and one
was completely stuck. I think that the one that was only partly sticking was
the noise that's been there since I bought the bike. That one was also in the
cylinder that was leaking oil and may have been the cause of that. I will clean
everything with carb cleaner of course before re-assembly. I can see no other
damage to the motor.

I'm having a tough time with this. Did they strike the pistons ?
Evidence of galling in the guides ? Valves do not bend without contact with a
piston. A very unusual failure given the care you give the bike. Any chance of
close-up pix of these ? You never replied about losing a cylinder at time of
noise, I'll assume you did. Both in same cylinder ? A loose guide that passes
oil does not stick it's valve. There is a condition that occurs in some motors
now that is fuel related. The intake valves stick because of a deposit of a
fuel additive that gums up the guides. Invert the head and spray carb cleaner
or oven cleaner down the guides and allow it to drip into a clean white cloth.
The deposit is a dark brown color and very stubborn to remove. This has not
happened to exhaust valves. Have the guides cracked as well ? I'm very curious
about this. Failure is a PITA, cause is vital.
