Thanks to everyone for all the input on my electrical and fuse problem on my 83 650. I chickened out and did not do the inline fuses. Once I got down to the fuse panel, I thought it best not to mess with the plugs by cutting wires. I called Honda and ordered the new fuse panel. Cost me $60. Not terrible all things considered. I was just relieved they still made it. Took a while to get the part, but finally got it. Just put it in. Once I got the bike back together, it fired right up. Actually lit up faster than it used to by several seconds. Now I have not gotten it on the road yet as it is getting late for me and I am tired, but this seems to have solved my electrical problems. Bike seems to run stronger at idle and the lights are brighter at idle. My tail light warning light has gone out. The only things that remains to be seen is how it handles at speed on bumps. That is when the gear indicator and fuel gage would cut out. Hoping this solves this problem. Then I can start worrying about another one!
