I've been thinking about this lately, as well, for my '85 450. I doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do with a little patience. Just bend a piece of 1/2" tubing into the right shape (search Google Images for a reference), cut the ends to the right length and flatten and drill for bolt holes anchored at the upper shock mounts. And then have someone weld a little triangle of plate in position to line up with that bolt that's further back from the shock mount (you know the one I mean), and voila! Add padding as desired, say, a padded piece of plywood bolted into the top bend... $20 worth of tools and materials!
