Very interesting. The original directions for a (complete) Super Trapp system
indicates eight most closely replicates the OEM exhaust. Drivablity trumps
outright performance any day. Few of us can operate a bike at +6000 at all
times. Gets my vote for tuning.
Thanks

I found that 6 disks are the best for sound, torque and fuel mileage. 8
disks works good for top end performance but raises the sound level quite a bit
and loses some bottom-end torque.

How many plates ? I like to use eight.
Good choice for a mod. I like the Trapp slip-ons to keep the EQ.

Both backrest and V&H where already on the Nighthawk when I purchased
it....However, the V&H exhaust was to loud. So I adapted SuperTrapp disks to
it. Awesome sound now and one more bonus.....Now I've got allot more torque.

Sean, that sounds like a really nice Nighthawk.

Do you mind if I ask where you purchased both the backrest and the
exhaust from?

Good luck with the Yamaha.
