The cam sprocket bolts are the only 7mm bolts on the whole bike. They take a huge amount of torque. The manual says to "apply locking agent" and tighten to 13~14 ft-lbs. Loctite blue would be in order.(one drop per) An impact tool would remove them easy. I've done 'em without and not had any problem. I hope you're not planning on doing this a second time.

To: "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" <[email protected]> Date: Thursday, September 10, 2009, 8:02 PM I've seen a few references to using locktite when installing the CAM sprocket bolts. I haven't been able to find reference to this in the Honda manual. Is this a reccomended practice. Possible scenarios are: 1. It's not needed to prevent the bolts from loosening (or Honda would have specified it) 2. It is needed (Honda just didn't specify it - doesn't seem likely) 3. If it is used -removing them the next time may be really difficult or most likely require heating with a torch. Ouch - i don't like this scenario. Any thoughts on this one?
