The question is, do we really need to archive the Oil conversation? That one is
always so much fun everytime it comes back around ;)

Dennis I thinks that is a great idea. There is nothing more valuable than
information, but information is lost unless you can reach to it. I would
suggest first we should identify the 'hot topics' (sort of what you have done),
and then producing documents based on the discussions. Pretty much just a
copy/paste, but we some organization.

Something like a Wiki section?  Where we could add our own comments?

Paul (our moderator and leader here),

I'm wondering if this site would be well served if there
was a place where we captured the results of some of our
conversations.

For instance, in the time I've been hanging out here, we've
had several long and involved discussions of

- What's the best synthetic Oil.
- What are the best tires.
- What about Ethanol in your fuel.
- Is Seafoam good for removing warts.

I feel like we, the old timers, have beat some of these
subjects mostly to death.  But then they come back up out of the grave -
they just won't stay down.

It would be nice, if someone. who's fairly new here, asks a
question about a subject like Ethanol, if we could say,

"Oh yeah, that's been discussed.  Please go here
and read this summary.   If you still have questions after
that, then let's discuss it."

I don't know how everyone else feels about it but I think
that we end up discussing the same things several times over - and I start
to glaze over tune out.

Also, some of the serious wisdom Dennis H. has shared
here could be captured as well and used as a great resource.

Back when I was trying to work out why two of my four spark
plugs weren't firing, he led me through a great trouble-shooting sequence and I
just know that this question is going to come up again and I'll bet he's tired
of running us through the same trouble shooting sequences.   Let's
save his expertise off for reuse and save him for the new stuff that
hasn't been dug into yet.  (sorry, Dennis H. for discussing you in the
third-person here).

What's everyone else think?

I thought about the hair dryer,  I ended up parking it
    in the sun for awhile.

Why would one promote not having ethanol in
    their gas?

A hair
dryer will clear it up. Works just like the defroster on
      a
car.
