I haven't tried feeding it directly into the air box. Just the fuel tank and the crank case for me. If you hear what you think is intermittent tapping in the engine it might be the seafoam in the crankcase knocking some crud loose to make the tap go away, but the crud settles back in later which makes it come back. I could also be wrong too ;)
