No it does not. The switch has two functions. Pushing it in completes the starter circuit and opens the headlight circuit. Releasing it should turn the light back on. It's common for the headlight circuit contacts to burn from switching the high current. That would explain the intermittent.

Thought I might ask something myself. My 2002 Nighthawk has a headlight problem. You can turn the switch have the headlight on, hit starter button motors, headlight should go off for a second when you hit starter button, but headlight won't come back on when motor starts. This is a hit and miss problem. I have a couple of buddies that ride Kawasakis, and they tell me that their headlights don't come on till motor starts, meaning it has a relay that kicks light on. My question is does anyone know if a Nighthawk has a relay since the light comes on with the key switch??? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
