Hello everyone! First, thank you for the awesome mailing list. I have learned an incredible amount from searching through the old posts.
However, I'm up against a problem that I can't figure out. I have a 1985 CB650SC. My first bike! Woo hoo! Unfortunately, anytime I get up to 40 mph or faster it feels like the front tire is skipping all over the place. Almost like something is loose. I've checked all the fasteners to make sure things are tight, alignment (using the fluorescent tube trick mentioned here), and have triple checked the tire balance front and rear. The front forks are true, and after pulling the tank and covers can see no evidence that the frame is damaged (checked for true here also). I took the bike to a local Honda mechanic and all he did was try and buy the bike from me for $200, saying the engine was about to blow up... and he wouldn't work on it as it was so old. Hmmmm... kinda shady... Anyhow, would anyone have thoughts on what might be causing the front tire to wriggle and skip all over the road?
