The material is a polycarbonate. Don't use a Dremel or anything like that, it can't take any heat and will burn. I refinished my gauges starting with 600 wet paper, Dupont #7 white , Semichrome, jewelers rouge. 20+ hours to do two gauges. I'm sure there might be better stuff, but that's what I had. Watch TV and rub.
