The reason I changed the shift-lever was because the tie-rod bearings were shot. The dust cover's were gone & it had a lot of play.  The foot peg & bracket came with it.  ($12 on e-bay!)

I got the tiny punch marks lined up.  They were only off about an 1/8 of an inch.  The pivot is lubed.  It shifts smoother now.

I don't know if both of the peg bracket's were bent, but the shift-lever tie-rod sure is close to the oil cap.  I thought both ends would be more at 90-degrees to the arm/shifter

It shifts firmly on the  up/dn.   Just becomes stiff on lower 2-gears

 That's how I discovered  shaft/shifter  "pock mark" alignment

There are "punch-marks" to align the shifter & shaft

They are some hard to see little dots!
