Hi, I need advice. I recently aquired a dead 85' 650 Nighthawk. The former owner ran the engine and suspected top end damage due to loss of oil. I disassembled the engine down to the top of the crankcase and found only a bit of scaring on one of the cam journals. I reassembled it and was able to turn the engine over by hand to set the timing (socket wrench on the timing bolt). I then reinstalled the engine in the frame and tried to start it. The engine turned over but would not start. A short time later when I tried to start it again the engine would turn over on 1 revolution before it became impossible to turn it over, even by hand. I then put a wrench on the timing bolt and tried to turn it over in the other direction and again, it would turn only 1 revolution. I need advice, anyone have this happen to them or does anyone know what needs to be done?
