I spent about an hour scouring my repair manual trying to find how to
get my seat off. Eventually, I discovered that I had to push the helmet
latch lock back, then find another latch on the other side, and push
that one back as well. The seat tilts up at the front, and then it just
comes off. Apparently, only the owner's manual tells you how to take
the seat off, and that's located under the seat. Hope that helps a bit.

I know the head is cracked because I took it to a dealer and he said
it was cracked and showed me. Then I decided I really wanted to fix
it myself. I can't really find any screws to unscrew. I've taken the
two bolts off the sides of this seat which did absolutely nothing. My
manual is for older models of cb 650's, and it says if there are any
differences it will be in this one chapter in the back, and I didn't
see anything about the dualseat in that chapter. It has two hook
things that wrap around a pole that runs under the seat horizontal to
the ground. And I can see where near the front of the seat i can't
pull it up because it's hitting on a metal thing that I can't reach
with a any kind of wrench. I went and looked at it again today,
usually if I spend enough time on something I can figure it out, but
I'm stumped

I remember going through this last summer with my 1982 Nighthawk. I
don't have a manual. Once we figured out that we needed to remove the
screws I remember that it was really easy to remove. Easier than my
750. My point is it's not a muscle it off type of thing - it will
come off easily.

Hello,
I recently purchased this motorcycle (last fall), and I really got
screwed because I don't know a lot about motorcycles (but I want to
learn a lot). The one I purchased had a crack in the cylinder head
and is leaking oil; I'm on a mission to fix it. I'm hoping to get
some help in the process along the way because I don't know anyone who
knows about this stuff. I've been reading a lot for about 3 months
and I've just started the process. I have the shop manual, but I
can't figure out how to get the seat off of it (I've taken the bolts
off). I can see what's stopping it from opening, but I can't get it
off. Can you help?- Hide quoted text -
