On extremely expensive aircraft windscreens, I ;earned years ago to use my bare hand and soapy water then dry with a microfiber or clean terry cloth towel. That combination will never scratch the windscreen. Costco sells a bag of Microfiber or Terry towels in the automotive section and I use them exclusively for this process and wash them frequently.
I carry that same procedure to all of my motorcycles with windscreens and it works very well and has for years. Also, when I'm touring, I carry a medium sized spray container of "Plexus" plastic cleaner. I use that on my Arai helmet visors and my windscreen with the same procedure using my bare hand to coat the visor or windscreen to loosen the tough, dry dried bugs then wipe with a soft cloth as above. Some guys on the road are using Pledge furniture polish. Plexus is very similar though I don't know if Pledge is streak/static free like Plexus. Plexus can be had at your local Cycle Gear in tiny pocket- sized spray container for about $6 or the bigger can for $12. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
