The diff is that brake cleaner dries more quickly.  Check out the composition 
of each.  Brake cleaner is much more volatile.  And no oils, either, because 
you don't want to lube your brakes, but some carb cleaners contain lubricants.

I think that there is little difference between the two when it comes to 
cleaning brakes at any rate. When I run out of brake clean I use carb clean. I 
notice no difference. I am that crash test dummy!

Carb cleaner?  I've never tried that.  On my cars I always use brake cleaner.  
Dries *really* quickly!
