Depends what the TLC involves. I had the same bike and it was a good one, just had to change the fork seals. I also had a full dress 1984 GL1200 I got for $500. It needed a new starter motor, tach cable, general maintenance stuff and also turned out to be a great bike. Depends what the TLC involves. Check the tires, fork seals, seat, brakes, starter motor, how many miles? Graham
