Notice the innovative method of tool-using in this species of Nighthawk owner.
Yes, we are a species all our own. I've used home made tools myself plus a few
auto parts.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: Petcock Solution

Mine leaked from around the big nut holding it to the tank.

I found the plastic/nylon filter screen was twisted and buggered up
inside the tank opening from previous owner attempting to fix it with
repeated attempts to tighten the nut.

Fixed it by fishing it out of the tank, trimming the damaged ends with
fingernail clippers, then heating it with my Zippo and shaping it back
to round by slipping it over the closed jaws of needle-nose pliers.

Cleaned it, replaced 2 o-rings and reassembled it properly and it has
been working flawlessly for more than a year now. Cost: less than 2
bucks.

Never mind the hundreds I've spent scrounging Ebay for parts for other
problems, however (!)
