Good call, if the tach dosent work at all and the speedo is just inacurate you can still compair -----Original Message----- Date: Wednesday, July 07, 2010 6:49:40 pm To: [email protected] From: [email protected] Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Mounting a GPS
<<I was a little concerned about mounting my GPS on the windshield as it's not perfectly flat and I was concerned about getting good suction. I went out the morning and had a brain flash. Why not just mount it on the flat speedo? >> Smart idea! I mounted my Magellan 1212 on the tach glass (the %#%# tach doesn't work anyway) and it fits perfectly. The mount doesn't even cover up the warning lights. But the added weight causes the whole assembly to vibrate, so a shim is needed between the tach and the turn signal light plate to firm things up. Just tried it around the block, but it does seem secure and works well.
