I went down to the range with my rifles last Sunday. I load em in my guitar case, bungee them horizontally on the passenger seat and then bungee my duffel bag with all my ammo and supplies on top. Works pretty well, the only catch is the muzzle of my Mauser sticks out of the case. I take the bolt out when traveling but I got some funny looks from the people at the gas station....
