Here's another tip, economy wise:  Consider "take-offs."

These are virtually new original tires with maybe a couple hundred
miles on them that a new car purchaser has swapped for his preferred
brand.

The tire company stores them for eventual sales to frugal guys like
me.  I've saved as much a half the cost of new this way.

But it's a catch-as-catch-can proposition.  I've been buying from the
same independent dealer for 30 years, and he will often call me to let
me know he has a set I might be interested in.
