Myths abound about them, but the reality is, if you ride thru a swarm
f them, you'll have a gooey mess all over your bike and you. Not to
ention the ones squashed on the highway by car traffic causing a
otential traction problem for motorcycles.
When I was driving a rig, I had stop every couple hours and scrape the
ig pieces off the windshield with an ice scraper, then scrub what
emained with Windex and a stiff brush before I could see thru the
indshield again. Nasty stuff.
And speaking of ecosystems, don't get me started on another experiment
- kudzu -- which is creeping across my yard as we speak (!)
