There isn't one, I could be wrong but I doubt it. These carbs use a pair of
fuel bleeds, the slow bleeds are metered by the fuel screws, and the main jets
are metered by the needles. So up to 1/4 throttle you are running on the slow
jets then the needle regulates fuel though WOT which is controlled by the main
jets size. Tuning consists of 1. Figure ot the main size then needle position
and lastly set the fuel screws. Fuel starvation at speed feels like you need
to switch to reserves, which does not sound like what he is describing. To me
it sounds like when you have slide carbs and you twist the throttle to quickly,
or on a car when you have the secondaries open too fast. So yes an accelerator
pump would be something to check but my 1992 doesn't have one. I'm thinking
there is something wrong with the actuation of the slides, but I'm no bike mech.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] engine problem.

Recently bought a 1997 Nighthawk 750 with 22,000 miles on it. It is easy to
see why everyone seems so excited about owning one of these. I do too. Rode
many years ago and am in love with doing it again.

Problem: Starts and runs great EXCEPT ****** At about 65 or 70 mph when I
attempt to punch it to get around someone it stalls for just parts of a
second, then revs up and off I go. This isn't just an instant hesitation,
it is dramatic enough to cause me to feel like I have put the break on or
turned the key off for just an instant. Like I said earlier it runs like a
top otherwise. Any help would be appreciated.
