Well, it appears it could be the cable. When I pulled the cable off
the back of the speedo, I inspected the end of the cable. Sure enough,
the end snapped right off. Is it possible that there was still enough
tension on the cable to at least partially drive the trip meter and
odometer but not the speedo? In retrospect, the trip meter only
registered 2/10 of a mile but I know I rode it at least half a mile.
One other question, is the cable model specific? Or, can I pick up a
cable at any parts store?
