I think I've mentioned this before in a post about bobbers. My uncle started his own motorcycle shop next to our house when he got out of the army after WWII. Among his personal collection of bikes was his favorite Indian, which he had stripped down bobber-style.
I was about 6 years old at the time (yeah, I'm that old) and whenever I heard him crank up that bike, I'd come a'runnin'. He'd swing me up to straddle the tank (no pillion, no sissy bar), and off we'd go. They didn't make mini-bikes back then or I'm sure I woulda had one. Did have a couple Whizzers and a Harley Hummer when I got a little older.
