I have a set of Nelson Riggs soft saddle bags. I just throw them over
the seat and go. I posted a picture about 18 months ago with them on
my 96 750 (bright yellow - kind of hard to miss). They also fit (sold
her) on my 82 650. The question I have is what does that do to your
center of gravity - especially if its mounted behind the backrest. I
have a trunk on my 750 and I can feel the difference when I put
something really heavy in it.

I've carried a netbook with me on all my trips with the soft luggage.
Other than moisture I really wasn't concerned, I just packed stuff
around it. I also put it in a ziplock bag, like all of my stuff, to
keep it dry.
