Here's my trick:
First off; +1 for PB Blaster. (not to spark an 'oil versus oil debate...,
but that's the stuff that was designed for *exactly* this application). Let
it soak in for at least a few minutes, if not overnight.

Although you'll have to spend a few bucks, you'll save in the long run by
getting the correct tools. I have an impact driver and some extractor bits.
A lot of people rip on the easy outs, but you gotta use them correctly -
that is, use them with the impact driver. Load the best fitting easy-out in
the impact driver, and hit it with a hammer. This does a few things - It
provides an impact that will help break lose the tension holding the bolt in
place. The impact driver will only turn a very small amount at a time, like
1/16'th of a turn with each hammer strike. It will only turn when you hit it
with a hammer; compared to trying to easy-out with a ratchet, and pushing in
as hard as your hands will allow, without pushing the bike over.

I actually stripped the one of the really long screws on my starter the very
first time I opened it up. Stupid Phillips drivers... anyways, I ended up
using my extractor and impact driver. The screw is all mangled on the end,
but it got it removed. Since I didn't have any kind of replacement handy, I
put it back in after. I've had to replace the brushes a few times since then
(as some of you may recall from my previous posts), and I just keep using
the extractor every time.
