Hello All,
Discovered today in the 140 odd miles since I did an oil
change the GS-1000 has apparently burned at least two quarts of oil.
(Thats all I had - so I know it burned that much) This jives with the
changing oil level I noticed and the black spark plugs.
I thought it might be dumping raw fuel into the crankcase, but
I pulled the carb drain plugs and with the petcock in the normal
(vacuum activated) position, no fuel leaked after the carb bowls
drained.
I'm now fearing the worst - that the engine will have to be
completely rebuilt from the block up - but I'm hoping that someone
here can talk me down from that.
Thoughts and encouragement?
