It depends on the shocks whether they can be rebuilt. The NH shocks are
basically bottom shelf and to my knowledge not rebuildable. The 700S might have
better shocks as it was a higher end bike. Just replace with progressive shocks.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] I think my shocks are gone

Lately I've been feeling the bumps in the road more than normal. I
thought it was tire pressure, my back tire was bout 5lbs low.
However, this morning as I was getting off my bike I heard a sound
like air being sucked into something and at the same time the back of
my bike went up an inch or so.

I've seen threads about replacing front fork seals but not rear
shocks. So a couple of questions:
1 - is it a rebuild like the front forks?
2 - will I need a spring compressor like you do for a car?
3 - I can do minor stuff but I'm not the most mechanically gifted -
how hard is this to do?
4 - any manuals / instructions out there?

Sean
