Friends (and used to be friends ;~)

I have a confession to make. My humor is not for everyone - nor understood by
everyone, as am I not! (which is as planned!)
You will usually (not always) be safer to assume that I am NOT being serious.
I do have spasmodic episodes of seriousness. Like parts of this............
(Damn, I hate to have to confess that I have to explain one of my
"jokes"............. :~)

Anyway, I saw a "joke" about "trains running on thyme (time)". A "long time
ago" (not so long ago for me!) one of the standards for good transportation was
the claim make by the railroads that "the trains are on time", a claim that was
mostly not true. It was a claim made by Mussolini, the dictator in Italy
during the 2nd World War: "I will make all the trains run on time". (If you
don't remember Mussolini, that's OK. If you don't remember the 2nd World War,
..........just hang around, another one's coming....................... :~(

Anyway, it looked like it had the potential for a good pun or "punk'd" joke, so
away I went.............
To prevent the mind from quickly sensing it's being punk'd, throw in a lot of
embellishment and extra, unnecessary info.............
I Goggled "thyme", and got all the good facts that I included in the "joke".
(True)
Sorry: there is no new thyme energy source, "green" or not....
There is not a new engine that runs on Thyme............ (or
time....)
The statement that "I have designed a train that always runs on
time" doesn't have much meaning today. Airline? Yeah! For sure!
Now I see the error of my ways! It should have been about an airline
that always runs on Thyme! (See revisions below!)
The last line could have been a tipoff: "Too much thyme on my hands......", but
not if you took me seriously and respectfully!
Thanks to those of you that did, (but didn't get the joke..........)

Keep smiling, it makes everyone wonder what the hell you're up to!

Gene

(Definitely too much time on his hands..............)

Updated "Joke" about "on thyme" (time) transportation...........

Because of the uncertainty of the outcome,I haven't said anything, but for
about 18 months I have been working intently on a new form of energy
conversion. I wanted it to be "green", so the research was limited to organic
origin fuels. I had to be a minimum of 300% more efficent than the energy
conversion of corn. (Bull Sh_t)

To reduce the variables, I narrowed my research to large power output devices
with uniform power output requirements, such as airplanes.
(Flying high and on Thyme! Get it? Added clue here....) It could also be
adapted to use in trains, large trucks and boats. (More bull Sh_t)

After 117 (I think) possibilities were exhausted, I finally found the "magic
organic!" Number 118! (Just more bull Sh_t)
Right in my cupboard! You probably have some too.
It is an aromatic herb from ancient times, called Thyme.
It was believed to be a source of courage, and was often a gift to Knights in
the Crusades. (From Google: True as are following)
Before antibiotics, it was used to medicate bandages.
It is the main active ingredient in Listerine mouth wash!
It is often found as the active ingredient in all-natural hand sanitizers.
It is used as a flavoring in meats, soups, and stews, particularly lamb.
It is readily available and easily cultivated, reproducing by seeds,
cuttings, and divided rooted sections.
It grows best in hot sunny areas, but can take deep freezes and grows wild on
mountain highlands.
Because of the higher energy concentration, I used the essential oil version
of the plant. (More bull Sh_t)

My patent is not final but is pending!!! (Even more bull Sh_t)

Finally, success! I have persevered!!! It always works!!!! (Still more
bull Sh_t)

For the first time in history, I have designed an airline that always runs on
Thyme! (If you still didn't get it, change Thyme to "time" ;~((
..............and IMO you're takine life much too seriously.........

(Too much thyme on my hands............. ;~)
